about

From the album, "Drama"

lyrics

It's amazing that we have so much in common
given the difference in our ages.
Seems some prefer the young
while others go for sages,
but I hope you'll pardon me
if while you're sitting on my knee
I keep one hand on my wallet.

It's clear we share a taste for the avante garde.
That tattoo on your lower back's a true objet d'art
It don't tramp nor stamp on my sensibilities -
it's a masterpiece on display,
just like the markings on an airport runway,
but I don't think I'll be landing their today.

Sure, I'll buy you a drink.
Don't need one myself.
Yes I'll buy you another drink,
but I think I'll skip this round, thank you.
What? Your gonna buy me a drink?
Well maybe I'll have just one,
but then I'm goin' home all by myself, oh yes I am.

I wake up in my bed with an aching head.
I see my wallet's gone and all my credit cards, too.
And I'm not surprised to find no trace o' you.
But I don't hold no blame
and I don't feel any shame,
yet I think I should have gone home,
yeah, I know I should have gone home,
I damn well should have stayed home by myself.
