they appear to want an audience;

I crawl out through the key hole,
head out across the lawn.
Right on time my lovely neighbor
moves her queen to take my pawn.
Checked what I thought was her mate
but was just some guy called John.

Them weasels have relocated
to some nice place upstate.
My neighbor is sick of chess;
